Garden renovation stress

We’ve literally just begun our renovations on our home and it is already killing me. Who would have thought something that so many people do for fun would be so difficult? I mean, I’ve watched renovation TV shows and I’ve seen them cry their eyes out over brindabella roses. I never thought I would have this much trouble, mostly because I sleep at regular intervals and avoid stress. I just thought we’d work out a plan and go from there. Apparently, however, a decent garden renovation requires more than just a cohesive strategy.

The first problems really arose when we had to work out what we were doing with the backyard. You would think it wouldn’t be that hard to find someone who can do the garden landscaping, but you would be sorely mistaken for that assumption. We looked high and low, but all of the quotes we were getting were absolutely ridiculous. It took weeks to find the people we eventually decided to go with, and that was only the start. From there we had to go through every element of the plan in insane levels of detail. I mean, I understand why we had to go through everything the way we did, but at the same time, it was pretty painstaking.

In fact, some of the worst problems we had in the planning stages were definitely in deciding what we were doing with the Flowering shrubs.  Where we live is full of hills, but we know we wanted to embrace that. Apparently, that just complicates the whole garden planning even more. All of this is just making me so stressed, I just don’t know how I’m going to cope. Are there any relaxation techniques that I can try? I know that dealing with the actual tradesmen is going to be a battle unto itself. Not sure how I should handle that. I’m so sick of everyone treating me like I’m a hysterical woman. I need some sound advice and help from my family! I need to take a deep breath and count to three.
